Project headshots

I just bought a new  prime lens, the sharpest (cheapest) 50mm to 1.8 Nikkor lens.  Although it wont auto focus on my D40,  I’m beginning to love it ( I just need to practice my manual focusing skills). It produces a creamy bokeh and are great for closeups and still-life.  Photographers named it  ‘the humble lens’.

THE WING EFFECT

Okay, so first of all these aren’t my pictures..yes. And whats with the wings?! ..Well, I’ve created a folder in my facebook photos and named it  “BASIC ADOBO’ ..its actually basic ADOBE ( adobo is a popular pinoy delicacy and yes it has nothing to do with pictures or photoshop)  Anyhow, i think its a… well, a not-so-unique name but its the first word that pops  into my head. So what i want is to put edited pictures  in that folder every time I’ll discover a new photo shop effects or whatsoever, you see I’m not that really good in photo shop…im still learning (on my own by the way..) thanks to you tube and some acrobat reader file for tutorial. So goin’ back, there are like five pictures that i have uploaded in that folder.  The one with the color splash effect, the beam effect, smoke effect and the one with the wings effect (my own pictures, me  as the subject)  then an FB friend made a comment about it specifically the one with the wings  and liked it so i made him one by grabbing one of his face book photo, after wards tagged him and the nicest thing is he made it as his primary pic but that’s not all. See, another FB friend find it cute and “THEY” want one too…

Anyhow, meet Maxine also known as Catherine (her real name) in her 5th month of pregnancy. We took this picture during our project de-stress seminar in tagaytay. This was a just quick shot.  A back lit trial…well not so.

Saturday “lakwatsa” day

What you can do on a saturday? Grab a camera, ask your bf to come with you and so is your brother to drive you around in taguig, walk along bonifacio high street, help ur future sister-in-law to find a new mini laptop, bring ur niece and be an instant nanny for a day (this is optional though), watch children and dogs (now in mini skirts)  run around and play….then stop! pose! and click!

Love in photography

My sweetie took this picture during the INC’s 95th anniversary celebration held at the araneta coliseum last July 27, 2009.  By far, my sweetie’s best not-so-dramatic shot ever! (for me, ayt? and the noise, yes i can see it).  Its so nice to have someone who gives you the inspiration or encouraged you to do the things that you love to do but the best thing is doing it together…and for US.. its our love for photography.

My Lady Arwen Grey

My first niece. It seems like yesterday, when she was so little and so tiny that i used to carry her and change her diapees.. she’s growing up now and starting to ask silly questions and act as if she’s already a woman. She loves to dance, she loves to act and she loves to sing, u’ll always catch her talking infront of a mirror…did i mentioned that she loves pictures? (..and im getting old whoah!)
